The subject of the project is the launch of the Student Meteo Station (SSM). SSM is a project that aims to monitor weather conditions in Wroclaw along with an application for the presentation of live data on a publicly accessible website. As part of the project implementation, the electrical installation, mechanical structure and web application responsible for the presentation of results will be prepared. The project assumptions include continuous registration of such environmental parameters as temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction, insolation (direct and diffuse) and dustiness (smog sensor). These parameters are important, not only for comfort and health, but also affect the efficiency of converting solar energy into electric current. The weather station will also include a set of photovoltaic panels together with a battery charging set, so that the station will have its own independent power source. The monitoring of conditions over a longer period of time will make it possible in the future to build a knowledge base on the ongoing changes in the climate and to take various actions, for example, in cooperation with the Climate Center operating at the Wroclaw University of Science and Technology.
